    A few years back, I drove up to Abbotsford, B.C., A few years back, I drove up to Abbotsford, B.C., to try spotting one of these pretty predators, only to be told it had left the area the day before. It was worth the try as Northern Hawk Owls are rarely seen as far south as even lower British Columbia. It's gone now, but one was in the Vancouver area for a few months, and I got a few glimpses. It was a thrilling, though crowded experience, as much because some days maybe 80-90 percent of the photographers were Asian. Down in the states, most of the time it's only me and occasionally another one or two.
