Magazine Covers

Above are two magazine cover shots for stories that I wrote and illustrated with my own images. My work also appears in three books —  “Salmon, Cedar, Rock & Rain: Olympic Peninsula” (Braided River, 2023), “Bird Photographer of the Year: Collection 7” (William Collins, 2022), and “We are Puget Sound” (Braided River, 2019) — as well as several sports publications and other periodicals such as Ampersand, Crosscut, High Country News, Mountaineers Magazine, Outside Magazine, Outdoor Photographer Magazine, Pacific Northwest Magazine, The Seattle Times, South Seattle Emerald, Washington Trails Magazine, and YES! Magazine.

Below, the first seven mages have been recognized in international competitions since 2022: “Great Blue Heron with vole” was cited by North American Nature Photographers Association (NANPA), Share the View, and Bird Photographer of the Year (published); “Short-eared Owl on the attack” was a Top 100 selection in the Audubon Photography Awards and a NANPA Showcase top 250 selection, “Kit and adult romp in the prairie” was a Best of Nikonians selection, “Barred Owlets in Seattle” was a NANPA Showcase top 100 selection, and “Red-Fox kit with fish,” “Harrier strips a Shortie,”  and “Shortie hunting” were cited by Share the View. Later in the gallery, the Long-eared Owl with Vole and Fiery Mount Rainier were selected to adorn King County Metro bus shelters in Seattle and Federal Way, Washington.
