2027 Nature Calls

Shiras Moose

Since my mentor, Tin Man Lee, suggested entering competitions to gain focus in my photography, I have earned 19 international honors between 2022 and 2026.

I decided to present many of them in the 2027 Nature Calls calendar. Because I seem to be a bit of an expert on Red Foxes and Short-eared Owls, I’ve dropped some of those and replaced them with images that I’ve had published in magazines or, in one instance, a bus shelter.

The competitions and publications of each shot are outlined in the calendar.

I’m proud to say that two of the images were published in books produced by Bird Photographer of the Year. One of my photos, of Barred Owl siblings, earned first place from the National Wildlife Federation and was “highly honored” and published in Nature’s Best Photography. I have twice earned Best of Nikonians and my most honored image, of a backlit Short-eared Owl, was saluted by Audubon Photography Awards, Bird Photographer of the Year, Nikonians (25th Anniversary), and the North American Nature Photographers Association (NANPA) Showcase.

My photography has been honored the most times by Share the View (six) and NANPA Showcase (5). The year in 2027 Nature Calls begins with sunrise at Mount Rainier, an image printed on a Metro bus stop in West Seattle, and sunset at Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park, an image published in Outdoor Photographer Magazine.

As usual, the calendar includes full-color images, printed on nice, glossy paper, with special days noted throughout the year, including many you might not have known about. This is not mass produced and serves as a fundraiser to defray the cost of operating this website. The calendars are $35, plus $5 for shipping.

Please note: Due to the cost of printing, I have cut my inventory significantly. If you want to purchase, please let me know as soon as possible.

Payments preferably by PayPal or Venmo, or if your bank account has a bill or “friend” pay, are the best ways to do this; my account is my email address: gnbuzz @ comcast.net (without the spaces, of course). Please include the address to which you want the calendar(s) shipped.

If you want to pay by another method, please email me.

All photos included in the calendar are below.
